AFAIK this happens when the BSI has forgotten how long it takes for the window to go up and needs to re-learn. It often happens on 406 after the battery has been disconnected. However, it normally only happens once; subsequent operation should be fine.

Thing that worries me is the noises it makes as it goes up and when it gets to the end
Could it be the regulator on the way out?

Window must be dragging on the rubbers and activating the antipinch system spray some silicone spray down the edge where the window meets the rubber at front and rear

Well had her in at Peugeot today for the recall work to be done
Asked the guy what he thought could be wrong, he basically said it's more than
likely the regulator
So going to get my mate (ex-Pug master tech) to fit me a new one
I've seen a company called Mister Auto have BOLK ones for around £40
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about BOLK??

So ended up having a new regulator fitted
Turns out that where the motor screws on there is some plastic mounts and 2 of these had broken which caused the drive cog to disengage under load
So all fixed now
