Relatively new here. any help please!
Car is a 2005 307cc 2l petrol. Has been a bit sticky starting this last week or two, taking a bit longer to fire up. Went to start tonight (I work backshift) and wouldn't start at all. just turning over with the asb and another light alternatively flashing. (can't remember which one). Code reader is giving a
P0500 code which is a speed sensor fault, but surely this wouldn't stop the starting totally?? Has recently had timing belt changed.
Has anyone come across this before, help appreciated!

Thanks for reply Gibbo
Tried that just now and it does indeed beep.
update: left on charge all night to make sure battery is charged (battery only a month old) then turned key over and after about 1m of coughing and spluttering she started and was actually running fine. Still has this p0500 code in memory and won't erase. Have ordered a Crank shaft sensor so will change that anyway
Trouble is I now can't trust to use for work Etc.
And yes has had a service in the last month or so.....
Gumtree here I come!
