The battery was completely flat this morning.

Had trouble unlocking it and the alarm went off.

The alarm stopped when I put the charger on it.

Now the window in the driver's door has dropped as it does when you open the door but won't go back up.

The other windows work fine, but the switch for the drivers window doesn't do anything.

Help! Any ideas what I can try?

I hate this car.

After an hour charging it's now starting and everything except the drivers window is working.

Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but no change

I know that what I'm about to say is about a completely different car make but may be a little helpful.

My dad owns a BMW and his window is exactly the same. He has tried everything to get the passenger widow to work again, including changing the wiring and plugs, the only way he can get the window to go up is to use 2 people, one flicks the switch and the other pulls the window back up, this stops the window from smashing from the impact and strain of it being pulled.
He also uses window tape to keep it in place during winter, only other thing that can be suggested on our behalf is to try this and take it to a garage and see if the wiring to the drivers widow is corroded slightly and ask them to make sure that the switch still has a live feed going to it, or if you have the equipment and know how to, you are obviously okay to check yourself.

I have this sometimes on my 207CC.

A couple of things that seem to work.

Use the window switch in the middle console (all windows) to lower and then raise.
Normal switch, lower and raise a few times.
Or jiggle the wiring between bodywork and door.

Failing that given the battery went flat. A BSI reset might work.

I know that sometimes after disconnecting the battery the window goes up in steps, but this is completely dead.

Been out and tried the centre switch: it operates all the other windows. Drivers window just won't move.

Got in it to take it to a specialist and the fucking thing has started working. Did the thing where the window will only go down and up in steps.

I hate it. I really really hate it. I hope it's broken into and set fire to.
