Hello.

I've been lurking on Forums for the past couple of weeks, but couldn't find the answers related to my needs. So I decided to Register and see if anyone could gimme an advice regards it.

First of all, my pug is:
Peugeot 307, 1.6 Petrol, Oxygo - Hatchback, Manual Transmission.
and I have done no mods to the car whatsoever. It's as default as it can be.

  1. I want to order a Cruise Control. As my car does not have it by Default. The Question is if buying it, custom installing it and enabling the function via PP2000 would actually be possible?! Has anyone done that? Or is it just for Automatic transmissions?
  2. and if so would a cable for ~ €50 from aliexpress do the Job?
  3. Car doesn't have parking assistance. I plan to install but found that there are originals I could buy. Would an original Parking assistance control unit be actually feasible to install, provided that I also buy the sensors, possible? and if so how? Is it Maybe better to stick to a Chinese parking kit?
  4. The Audio is horrible. No bass due to poor Location of Speakers mounted on the plastic door cover. I found People did some custom mods to get better Audio but it was way too much effort and Money. Had anyone done anything for better Audio?
Thanks in advance.

Check your brake light switch before you start buying stuff for the cruise control. you need a 4 wire switch for it to work. My car only had a 2 wire switch and only 2 wires in the loom. I ended up running an extra wire to the ECU. It meant getting a scrap plug for the ECU and taking the pins out to put the extra wire in to my loom. If you need to information I can probably find it again.

I have fitted a chinese parking sensor kit. It works reasonably well but I think a genuine system would be better. But I have no idea how much work would be involved to fit it.

It would be great if anyone who had installed an original parking unit, shed some light About the process.

Pre-CAN models the parking sensor unit is located in the off side c-pillar near the rear lights. It only support beeping with no display on the MFD. Later models it should be in the nearside rear quarter panel area

Without spending money and/or effort there's not a whole lot you can do.

As you stated, the problem is the speakers being mounted to the floppy plastic door cards - put better speakers in the stock locations and they'll still be mounted to the floppy plastic door cards which are surprisingly effective at cancelling out bass...

You could replace the head unit - which makes you lose a bunch of functionality from the display and would still be driving crap speakers (if you keep the OEM ones) mounted in a crap fashion - bear in mind the inbuilt amp chip in the OEM head unit is the same part (or very closely related) as used in a lot of / most aftermarket units anyway, so nothing really to be gained there if it works. Except a pre-out to run a sub.

The minimum really is to make up some sealed mount rings to attach the speakers firmly to the doors, and chop out the insides of the cards for clearance. Better speakers mounted like that will make a large difference, and the addition of acoustic damping mat on the doors would help too.

Adding a sub will obviously add bass, but sorting the door mounts should be stage one - otherwise they'll still distort easily and muddy the sound from the sub.

The long and the short of it is that there's no way to get (what I consider) good sound without a fair amount of DIY effort, or paying someone to do it for you.

I also searched for some rings as an alternative. Do you know if there are custom made ones, or should I just buy normal MDF rings and DIY a solution?

I've not seen custom mount rings for the 307, but they probably exist somewhere - I've not looked though to be fair.

I'd cut them myself, with 17cm fronts and 13cm rears you should be able to make the rear rings from the middles if the fronts (to save money on materials) - don't need to be anything fancy, just caulked for sealing and attached to the door.
