my 05 1.4 16v thermostat, has packed in for the second time, I got the dealers to replace it last time under warranty but having recently purchased my halfords tool kit I want to DIY the repair, the 1.4 307 engine looks fairly good and easy to work on to me...complete novice.. so can anyone tell me whats involved with carrying out the work, I used to work as a computer tech and I'm not afraid to learn new things.

Any help gladly recieved.

Is it actually failed. This is very rare for the 307. Don't think ive ever fitted on to a 307 since it came out in 01. What are your symptoms?

Start with bleeding the system first. Rev engine to 1500rpm until fans cut in. Make sure the bottle is full of coolant. Actually before doing that fill reservoir and open bleed nipples one at a time to let any air out. Then do the revving procedure.
