Recently after replacing the battery for a new one, found that on a cold start the power steering failed to come on (strangely with no fault code on display). While still under a cold start, found that the problem would go away after leaving the key in ignition (2nd notch) for 30 secs or so before starting.

Was told by local dealer it could be caused by the power steering pump failure and may need replacent but i'm sceptical cos the problem doesnt happen on a warm start - I can just start per normal and everything works. Because its intermitent, the dealer who ran a diagnostics check and couldn't find the problem. Have left car overnite so that they can do another diagnostics run under cold start.

Has anybody experienced this problem before? Any solutions?

:thumb: Turned out the problem was a leak in the power steering pump which led to fluid accumulating in the connectors. Not until they removed the connections was the leak discovered. Local service dealer replaced with a new pump and problem went away.
