Hi all. My first post on here.
I have recently purchased a 54 plate 2.0 diesel (90 hp) sw.
Car is exactly right for my recently expanded family but having not owned a diesel for many a year, have one question.
How long does the temperature take to reach what would be 'normal running temp'?
It can take nearly 10 miles of 'average' driving before the temp gauge reaches just under mid way.
Is there an easy way of checking the thermostat? How easy are they to change/ how much do they cost?
Its not just the comfort of the car warming up I am worried about, more concerned about engine running cooler (thicker oil), thus causing accelerated wear etc.
Thanks
Andy
