Hi all. This is day 1 of membership and my first post so apologies if covered elsewhere but I couldn't see anything.
I have. 56 plate 307SW 1.6 HDi with 80k on the clock. Up until now I have only ever had maintenance and wear/tear done on the car and it is looked after by a mate who is a Peugeot Technician. I've had two problems: 1. Hiccup at various speeds And 2. Airbag warning light on. (1) My mate has changed the fuel filter and done actuator tests on the EGR valve which seemed to clear the hiccup for a month or so but it has come back. ECU is showing an intermittent error on EGR valve. (2) airbag needs a new control unit. All in all, with mates rates I'm looking at c£700 which is pretty much what the car is worth as a trade in.
The question is should I;
A) get the work done as the car is good for another 'X' years
Or
B) accept that I've had a good run and now is the time to get rid?

I'd really appreciate views and opinions

cheers

If the car is worth more than £700 to you (i.e. you like it) and there are no major predictable costs on the horizon I'd keep.

EGR blanking is pretty easy, just drop in two plates for a start.

Regards the airbag, if you are not 100% sure the module is faulty, post up the fault code because often it's some dodgy wiring!
