Hi everybody, never been here before so be gentle and I hope you can help.

I own 2002 2.0 HDi 307 Estate. I last drove it 3 days ago. Got in it yesterday afternoon, no power, seemed to be absolutely flat so I dug out the battery charger that hasn't been used for years and went to remove the battery to charge it up. I found the clip on one of the terminals was loose, fiddled with it and got it securely clamped on the terminal. Got back in the car, hey presto power, seems to be plenty of it, turns the engine over but it will not start. Any ideas? In the two years I have had the car it has always been a brilliant starter. Has the disconnecting of the power likely to have done anything to the electrics? I used to have do problems with old style electrics in petrol engines, but I know little about diesel and have never tinkered with them plus there is the additional complication of modern car electrics.

The tank is half full and the glow plug lights go off as normal.

Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated.

Regards

Bernard

get access to your fuse box and give your fuses a check, no doubts it sounds like one of them has blown
