Hello
I'm a new member here And a new 307 owner, I had my car on peugeot planet due to the anti pollusion light coming on, the computer said that I have low turbo pressure and will go into limp mode, when I put my foot down going up a hill this happens, ive read a few threads on here that has said check the solenoids but I'm not 100% sure on what I'm looking for, has anybody got a step to step guide or any photos to what I'm looking for that would be a massive help.
Thanks for your time

ThAnks gavcol69, this has reAlly helped me out, I will try and have a quick look at them before I go to the garage tomorrow to see if I have anything loose around there.
Would there be any tell tale signs if one is broke or not working?

Thanks tom.

No there electrical so it'll be an internal problem, not something you can see. What is worth a check though is the vacum pipes that come off the electro-valve. It's common for them to split. I think you can disconnect at elctro-valve end and suck down them. Trace the one that goes to the turbo, this controls the Vane pitch of the turbo. If the pipe can't hold a vacum your vane's will stay closed and turbo wont spin up. Can you hear turbo when driving? Don't think it will cause an anti-pollution fault though. You getting any smoke or anything? Could be your DPF. If DPF is clogged, exhaust can't get out as quickly as they need to. This can stop turbo from working too - if exhaust can't flow over turbo at speed, no turbo spin up.

I'm not sure how you can test the solenoid but whilst you're under the car check all the vacuum pipes as splits or any loose connections could cause low turbo pressure.

The solenoid you're looking at is the lower one.

I don't get any black smoke and when you rev the car you can hear the turbo, it's manly when I go up a step hill it goes into limp mode, when I took it to a peugeot specialist he said he will have to get the car on a ramp and have a look.

Gavcol69 which part on the diagram is the electro valve?

Thanks for your time.

Probably your DPF, I'm def no expert. If the garage tells you it's your DPF and they going to charge you a tonne of cash I would ask some guy's on here about removing it. It will probably cost you less.

The ecu is storing a low boost reading as a fault but that is not the problem mearly a symptom

You may have a faulty solenoid but easiest test is just replace it im afraid they are not that expensive

Could be vacum loss you need a vac gauge to test a boost gauge does fine for this you are looking for vacum at the pipe that joins to all 2/3 solenoids this comes from the vacum pump should be a steady reading both at idle and when reved

could be a boost leak
could be boost sensor seeing too much boost and shutting it down

Could be that the Particulate filter if you have one is not regenerating meaning turbo cannot produce enough boost

Good luck :)

Thomasjw, all the best with it and try and let us know if/when you manage to resolve it.

I am trying to trace the cause of my low pressure. The turbo cuts out going up hill but no eml light.

So far I have found a split 90 degree rubber connector and have tested the vacuum reservoir which is good.

I will probably replace the solenoid once I've visually checked everything else.

Update on my 307, took it to the peugeot specialist near me that done my first diagnostic and had my 2nd free one done, the error was that the solenoid was faulty, the bloke at the garage said he didn't have a new one to put in so best bet was to try a scrap yard and see what they have, I managed to get 3 of and tried one of them and I'm still having the problem which could be down to that part being faulty aswell? Or I've switched it with the wrong part, I know there are 4, 2 which are up top and 2 that are down left near the oil filter one on top of each other, I think the top one had a blue switch on it and the bottom has a black switch, the bloke at the garage said it was the black one I need to change is this correct? Please help I'm confused.
Thanks for reading and for your time. Tom

I think that is the one I changed but it is still playing up, I might have to try and order a new part so I know it will work.

There wasn't any other fault codes apart from the ESP/acr fault could not be recieved by the ecu.
I'm not to sure on actually type but its a 51reg 307 2.0 Hdi 110 Bhp.
Thanks tom

ok as mentioned the DPF may be blocked and not allowing the turbo to spool. Mine was significantly blocked before getting error message.

I have the same low turbo pressure coming up on planet and my plan is to check the vacuum circuit first then the pipework around the turbo and then if need be I'll replace the turbo control solenoid.

From the turbo control solenoid trace all of the vacuum pipe work and check for splits/breakages.

Using the diagram at the beginning of this thread find the vacuum reservoir and make sure it also has no splits/damage. I removed mine, blocked up the holes and held it underwater.

Also jack up the car, take out the drivers side wheel arch liner and look up into the turbo at the rear of the engine and make sure there's no loose pipes.

Being the 110 you'll have an intercooler, check the pipework at the top and bottom of the intercooler. Again make sure theres no splits or loose hose clips.

Thanks roky for your replays, do you know of any pictures that will help me as I haven't had a peugeot before and I don't really know what I'm looking for, over the last few days though my car has been playing up and for a good 5 mins I have no turbo and it won't rev past 2k and then all of a sudden I get the turbo kick in, I'm confused about that.
Thanks tom
