Well since shortly after I bought this 04 1400hdi it was putting vibrations through the car.

They are now very strong and now the car has issues moving off. It turns over fine but engine cuts out within 2 seconds

Car is quite hard to drive is 1st and second gear, clutch control on a hill is very hard, ive had to go back to using the handbrake like an l driver...lol

Have to give plenty of revs when moving off

Ive had it checked out and the mechanic who done a leak back test said there were 3 bad injectors.

But Im debating over what to do, I cant afford £300 per injector new plus labour and Im not much in favour in buying a second hand set of injectors that could just be in the same state.

Im probably going to get the injectors pulled and send them to be reconditioned, ultrasonic cleaning....

With 3 duff injectors i would expect the car to be hard to start as the HP pump would struggle to get fuel rail pressure above 250 bar when cranking.

Have you checked if you have a Dual Mass Flywheel as these can give bad vibration, bad/poor clutch control and can also cause cutting out at low revs as swarf from DMF can buildup on crank sensor.

Did your mechanic use Planet etc to see live data with engine running or just leak off test as the live data can often be used to give a better indication of possible faults with injectors/fuel system.

My mistake thought some 1.4's had DMF. Does the car smoke when you get the vibration/lack of power.

Check to see if the catalytic converter is broken free of exhaust and blocking it. Hugely common problem.

Yeah the exhaust does smoke, but with it being cold and wet for the past couple of months and the fact Im revving I thought a bit of smoke would be expected.

Well ive spotted four brand new injectors on ebay for my car. Four genuine bosch injectors. Ive made a deal with the seller, £460 for the set.

I never wanted to put second hand injectors in as i dont know what i could be getting.

Hopefully this sorts the problem, three mechanics have said it probably is but also said it might not be...lol

Time will tell, seems to be an extremely difficult job in the 1.4 hdi, due to position of the injectors. Anyone on here undertaken it before...

Its pretty handy. Airbox up. And there they are. Replace the washers also when putting down the new injectors. They will all need to be coded.

Yea, i will prob have to do that myself as i dont think my mechanic has much diagnostic equipment.

Is there a guide on here to do it with planet, is it pretty straight forward...

Is there not also the fact that the injectors may not want to come out, ive seen a guy on gumtree advertising a mobile service where he will come out with a hydraulic puller and guarantee they will come out but mechanic says will prob be broken on way out.

Car is booked in for 26th so hopefully all goes well. The number 6 washer is actually prefitted to new injectors so dont need to get them.

Mechanic said having new collars would also be handy, would that be number 5...?

Hallelujah....:D...my 307 is finally fixed.

Well I only picked it up this evening but big big big difference...

Four new bosch injectors fitted...£90 labour. Pretty good I thought, injectors cost me £460 so I suppose that makes up for it...

Will get a better drive in it tomorrow but think that should be it....

Driving well, idling well. Now my car developed another fault a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was just a continuation of faults related to bad injectors but the problem still remains so it must be something different...

At about 1900rpm 55mph the engine is seems to give a heavier revving sound. Its as if Im driving in fourth gear at 80mph....

Car is driving well still and idling ok. When you first start the car it will give a little chuffing noise like a leaking injector, nothing compared to the way it was, no strong vibrations or anything.

Once you drive the car for about 20 mins though and stop there is so chuffing noise. Is this the start of more bad injectors or a job not done the best.

Still revving a bit at 55mph, im thinking the cat is blocked so hoping just to decat the car, there are decat pipes on ebay, but none for a 307, wonder if i should just remove and hollow out....
