Hi,

I have a 2003 307 Diesel estate. The other night the car all of a sudden died on me and I was not able to restart. The car had to be towed back.

The car turns over like it wants to start but just wont almost looks like its not getting fuel.

I went through the fuses and found the ignition control unit (engine fuse box No 4 10 amp) fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and tried to start the car again but it immediately blew. I tried this a few times and the same thing happened. It was late and I was getting frustrated so I put in a larger fuse (30 amp I believe ) and the car started. It ran for about 2 minutes then engine stopped back to square one. I'm assuming there must be a short somewhere so that's tomorrows job to trace out but I'm trying to find some electrical diagrams for this part of the electrics to help with this. I did find these diagrams

Peugeot 307 Wiring Diagram

but these I don't believe are showing me everything I need to know. Has anyone got better diagrams or know of any other fixes to this problem?

Over the past few months I have had a couple of lights come up on the dash which I'm wondering if they give any clues. One was an ABS light and the other engine management for the pollen filter. They were not effecting the car at all at the time and was going to get them seen to at its next service ( next week) They may be red herrings but thought I would mentioned it and see if anyone else has had something similar happen.

According to the manual the fuse in question also is for the fan unit relay control, additional heating relay control. It also powers some automatic gearbox functions but as my car is a manual I'm assuming these will not be present !

Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated. I hate to give up on things like this but next step will be off to the auto electrician with it.
