307 cabrio gearbox fault

car is a 57 2.0 cabrio with tiptronic gearbox

over the last couple of weeks it has been flashing up with gearbox fault and wont change gear so you have to turn engine off and restart and then it will be ok for a while

gearchanges are also quite hard sometimes

any ideas would be very welcome :)
