I had the car in for the mot 4 weeks ago. New discs and pads fitted all round.

Braking is much better, but since then the brakes have been squeaking, well more of a high pitch squeal.

I thought a few hard stops would put a stop to it but unfortunately not.

In the old days very thin shims were inserted to stop squealing of the disc brakes. I have not seen these for many-a-year. Another old trick is to try a bit of copper ease on the back of the pads, where they touch the pistons.

Yea, I got these little anti squeal shims with my brake pads free. They were genuine peugeot pads bought off ebay...

Thats what I thought myself, mechanic never applied any grease to the brake pad slides...

Will leave it down to him as have a warning at MOT centre that driveshaft gaiter needs replaced...

Definitely needs copaslip (or even better, Mintex Ceratec, superb stuff) on slides and a blob on the contact area at the back of the pad too.
