hi im looking for some advice. I have a 307 2.0 hdi with a knackerd hp fuel pump. ( bosch) And ive brought a citroen c5 2.0 hdi engine that was cheaper than the pump by its self. the engine has all auxsillarys IE turbo / hp pump autonator /injectors etc still fitted . Now i no i will need to swap injectors over on to the new engine. Ijust need to no if its better just replace the hp pump on old engine or should i swap the complete unit as new engine has had new cam belt at 75,000 and aparantly it had 90,000 on the clock when removed. Both are 90 bhp just need to clarify what elce i would need to swap from old engine to make it run in my car. and if its worth doing at all. thanks Ben

I agree why do you think the pumps knacked ?

Also why do you think you need to swap the injectors ?

You can just fit the whole engine provided the injection system is the same IE both bosch or both siemens

Turbo outlet pipes may well differ though

Hi sorry I did not reply sooner but ive been on holday .any way first I sent the car to a local carage after telling him that the car would not start .he pluged in his diagnostic equipment and told me there was low pressure fault on the common rail that was the reason it would not start and he sugested I send it to a diesel specialist that he recommended. So on his advice I did just that about a week after the car was sent to them they came back with diagnosis of hp fuel pump being broken up inside and to fix was going to cost £1400 to fix .But as the car is 2001 2.0 hdi I was not about to spend the same amount of cash as the car was worth. So after talking to a friend he told me that he had a complete replacement engine with all aux included .So im still at the same place not noing wether to replace the hole engine with the replacement replacement one ive just got and how difficult a job it would be .thanks for the replys ive allredy had and any help would be apriciated ben

I doubt the pump has failed they can but its not that common

PARAGRAPHS make reading things much easier

If the pump has broken up then EVERYTHING is contaminated pump injectors fuel pipes tank etc

Even if you change the engine over you still need to sort ou the tank and pipework or the contamination will just wreck the new stuff :)

C5 engine has some differences to 307 engine also 90hp and 110 hp differ in various ways

Need more info to give more accurate answer with paragraphs :)
