We bought a second hand 307 2.0 HDi, nice runner for 6 months then one day it wouldn't start. Peugeot garage identified fault as ECU which we then replaced but car still won't start. It turns over and runs for about 1 sec. Car has now been with garage for 6 months and had about £1000 spent on it to no effect. Is this a lost cause?

Very commont fault !!! make sure the ECU terminals are clean. When you have a diagnostic done the terminals corrode so does not talk to the ECU. Peugeot are VERY AWARE of the problem.
