Hi i have a 2007 1.6 hdi 90
it has been smoking from exhaust when starting from cold and is a bit lumpy
the fumes smell like diesel
i have recently changed the cam belt and when i took it for a drive there is a lot of smoke coming from exhaust and does not clear
does the fuel pump have to be timed up correctly as some one told me it does not matter
i also got hold of planet software after losing mine had it for 4 years and have not had to use it hooked up to my other peugeot ok 1.6 hdi 110 2004
but on the 2007 one it says ecu not supported
please can anyone help on this please
thanks in advance

A common rail diesel pump does NOT require timing. All it needs to do is keep a constant pressure at the fuel rail. The fuel timing is regulated by the ECU switching the injectors at the correct time.
