Its plastic,Peugeot havnt fitted metal tanks since the early 80`s.
Its highly unlikely its the actual tank leaking, unless its had a big impact with a rock or whatever.A common leak on 306`s is the small hose that connects the fuel filler neck to the tank splits.Other leaks could be the gaskets around the intank fuel pump.Take out the rear seat cushion and the large plastic grommet in the floor to see if there is any fuel on top of the tank.
Cheers Guys, I can now get the correct repair cement, it is defanetly a tank leak as I went over a high sleeping copper and it bent the exhaust heat shield, when I tried to straiten it out it must have gone into the tank, not a bad leak but don't want diesel all over. Cheers again :thumb::thumb:

When i turn up my interior fan speed, my coolant temp goes up and my fuel gauge
