Hey @Scoop64, that's a strange one with the auto handbrake getting stuck and then working fine after you disconnected the battery. Before it happened, had the car been sitting for a while or was it after a short stop? Sharing a bit more context might help someone else here recognize the pattern

 

Well it just had some work done at a garage , the egr valve was removed they would have had to do a reset after work done to remove fault code, don't know if this confused the ecu.
