I have just read my 2017 July issue ( yes I know I am way behind with them) in the Practical Performance Car magazine and a reader has wrote a tale about his 306, which I believe is just an older 307 from the look of it. Anyway he got it with 117K miles on it and it was a HDi GLX spec. It has now got (2017) 170K and its now full HDI D Turbo/GTI spec that has had a remap taking it from
90 BHP and 155 Lbft of torque to 121 BHP and 210 lb ft of torque. He reckons he can get 54mpg on long runs and 45+ around town! I thought the 2 Litres were juicy as standard and find his claims a bit tongue in cheek. I have had 3 vehicles remapped. My 2009 Tiguan, my LDV Convoy van and the sons Honda CRV 2.2 Litre. Not much difference in the CRV but greatly improved drivability in the other two but especially the Tiguan. Long run into the fifties and acceleration is so fast that you need one eye permanently on the speedo! Does it sound realistic to you? And what does the second title actually mean as all HDIs have turbos I thought?

Your posting in the WRONG forum its 306 topic not 307 :lol:

I wondered how long somebody would mention this and my money was on you!!
But as I said in the thread it looks identical to the 307 and Peugeot probably made a few minor changes and added a digit to make it seem a new car!! As I have a 307 I decided to mention it here purely for the technical aspect to see if any 2L members agree with the mods to give the figures he gets.

If he fitted intercooler he should easily get those figures. The 2.0 110 with a similar size but ecu managed turbo can hit the 140-150 bhp and 260NM mark with nothing more than a good remap.

My 307SW 2.0 was mapped to 150, averaged a genuine (some remaps fool the Trip Computer) 45ish MPG in mixed driving 50+ on a run with no issues in over a 150K miles (car was still going strong when i sold it at 260K)

They can be fitted with minor work either an aftermarket one behind lower section of front bumper or some people fit the OEM 110 one at the side of the rad.

The biggest issue is making up some custom pipework to hook the intercooler into the intake system again its doable with the wide array of silicon hoses, bends and pipe sections etc available. Even without the intercooler you should be able to get a reliable 120-125 BHP
