went to dealer and they want 860£ to fix the frame in the seat, they would not do it when i went to them it was about 3.3 years old, so outside 3 year warranty, they first said they would ask them as it was a common problem, and honestly I never opened it often to get into the back as always just me, so for it to break it was a shock

anyways bought a seat of first choice, 138£ and just wanted to see if there is anybody here who has done this or knows of it, is it a striaght forward swap, any tips or advice

Different trim levels can have different wiring for the airbags with different plug connectors. Other than that there is nothing else I can think of. If the seat you have bought is for a different trim level you may have a problem but hopefully all will be well.

Same problem with my 208 GTI. I'm pushing for the warranty to pay out for the fix. But I might be better buying a newish seat instead. The matching ones for the 208 GTI go cheap.
