Symptoms: No A/C, MIL on, car misfires and is down on power.

What I’ve done so far: Scanned the car, found p0354 (ignition circuit “d” fault), and also p0597 (piloted thermostat fault) and p1340. I cleared the faults and took it for a drive. MIL returned - scanned it again, now I’ve got p1340 and p0597.

Let’s ignore P0597 right now - that’s the thermostat and it’s not running properly which is causing issues with my A/C.

P1340 is the serious one - it’s making the car undrivable.

I’ve done some reading and P1340 can apparently mean bad coil OR bad camshaft position sensor, depending on your engine.

What does P1340 mean on a THP 150 engine? Bad coil on cyl #4?

p1340 is misfire on cylinder 4 on the thp engine. Swap the coil over to cylinder 3 and see if fault occurs there.

When last change spark plugs? Fuel do u use ?

just checked the p0354 and its cylinder 4 ignition coil control fault: coherence.

so definitely moving they coil from cylinder 4 to 3 will tell u if its definitely the coil at fault.

Plugs done 12k miles ago.

I always try to use 98 octane but sometimes not possible. It’s also been re-mapped and is WELL overdue for a intake carbon clean so these factors are not helping things either.

Anyway.

I swapped coils 3&4 (4 being the one closest to the front right wheel of the car) and cleared codes. Car now running OK and only showing piloted thermostat fault. I’ll fix this later since it requires replacing of the thermostat.

I will pick up a spare coil and bang it in anyway. They’re relatively inexpensive. I can still feel the car isn’t 100% smooth.

Yeh could be doing with plug change as well having done that kinda mileage and having been mapped, we change ours every 5k and are gapped at 0.6mm so at 12k miles the gapping won't be helping the spark hence reduction in performance

What plugs do you recommend? Mine has a light tune on it, everything else is factory standard.

just the standard plugs u would get from Peugeot dealership for the car tbh, that's what I run on big power over standard and have not had any issues with them.
