Well youd think a simple battery change in the KeyFob wouldnt be such a c**t of a job, but now im left with no REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING. Anyways out with the old and in with the new battery, no RCL, tried doing the IGNITION ON, HOLD LOCK BUTTON etc etc as per the Peugeot Handbook, again no luck...

So what is it you actually have to do to get the RCL working again?

Thanks in advance.

get in the car

turn ignition on (dont start engine) & hold down lock button for 20 seconds

turn off & take out the key

put key back in

turn to same position as before and hold lock button for 5 seconds

take out key

get out of the car

lock the door with the actual key (don't press buttons to lock it!)

open the car with the button

that should do it for you

I just tried this procedure, to no avail.
Its a 207 2008 yrmodel.
When i bought the car, the seller told me to change battery, which i did. The remote locking then worked 1 out 10 times. Now its completely dead. I use the key to lock/lock up, but the cold weather sometimes freeze the lock...
I only have 1 fob, the sparekey is just a flat key.

Any other suggestions?
How do you rule out if the transmitter/circuit board isn't broken?

Thanks.

We picked up a 2008 plate 207cc at the weekend and have the same problem, one of th keys looks unused and doesn't work.I changed the battery and still nothing. I will try the procedure above though and see what happens. As asked above, is there anyway of checking to see if the key is faulty?
Thanks:)

The actual operation is.
Wait 1min from last operation on the ign switch ie turned off. Put key in ign turn on and hold lock button for 5 sec, turn off ign and wait 1min. Then the key fob should be operational.

I have one key which i have put a new battery in. I have tried both methods and neither work with the key fob shut.
I have opened the fob and manually pressing the circuit board into place the fob will work. Put it back in and no joy. I have tried pulling the contacts up to ensure a good contact but cannt see a way i can test with the fob shut up... any ideas?

Tired this method to reprogram my car, and it has anti-locked itself anyone know how to fix it?
Don't know much about the anti lock but I recently changed both my key battery's and was amazed that my spare worked without even doing this. It has never been used so don't know how long the battery has been dead, I must have been lucky. I'm sure you can change the anti lock via the menu button on the radio?

Still won't work grrrrrr!

Got a new battery after it ran out a few months ago
And it now won't work I have tried all the different
Tips from on here and other places including the manual.
When I tried the one where you hold the button in before
Turning ignition on it came up on dash active auto lock so I waited
And it said auto locking activated. But when I tried it still wouldn't
Work. Did it again and just the word failed came up!!
On the third go it said activated again, but still won't work!!
Has anyone got anymore ideas. My last fob broke because I
Kept using it manually so this is a new fob and battery
But with original inside and key etc.. Tried the mobile
Camera trick and no white light!! I have the key code
Card can this help in anyway! I only have this 1 key as the
Other was lost a few years back. Btw it's a 2007
207 hatchback. Please help.

Had an issue with flat batteries and the sync as directed in the manual worked OK.

Two things, why are CR1620's the worlds rarest battery? Wandered round town into all the shops to try and find some, in the end had to buy a pack with 24 batteries in it just to get a couple!

Also Timpsons told me they will only supply their own transponders and won't cut blank blades. I'm going to try my local cobbler tomorrow. If not does anyone know somewhere in York/Leeds that will cut blades that I buy online cheap.

I want to buy two replacement fobs

2 Button FOB Remote Uncut Blade Car Key Case For CITROEN Peugeot 307 207 308 407 | eBay

Take the circuit boards out my current broken fobs and have the blank blades cut the same as my current key.

How much will you charge?

I'm in Leeds next Tuesday evening so could bob over then.
just take your blades out and put them in the new fob (when you close the blade you will see a small pin just use a small nail to knock it out and then pull blade out)

but if want the blades cutting they are £8 each if you bring them to me
