just bought a 207 1.4 hdi with atleast one injector seal chuffing.

was speaking to an injector remover specialist the other day, he was saying when he removes the injector, sometimes it take the sleeve with it because of all the black crud. when that happens, the head needs removed?

anyway, he doesnt have time for a week or two, so i was considering trying this job myself. looking for advise, on doing the job and advise on best prep to give me more chance of the injector coming out with no hassle.

its been soaking in plus gas and derv for a day so far. ive read running the engine with the holder bolt a couple of threads loose can help, also having the engine run hot before trying to remove?

any helps appreciated, thanks

The sleeve will only come out with the injector if the injector is forced out if it is removed carefully the sleeve will stay in place problem on these engines is the way the top seal works means any penetrating liquid used also gets inside the engine into the oil so dont go to crazy. loosen the injector and run it it may well come out that way and if it does the sleeve will be fine.

Trying to remove the plastic rocker cover , how many bolts hold it at the back , I removed 2 10 mm but the bugger still won’t budge at the back.

All four injectors removed, may aswell do all seals while there.

Can see the one that’s been leaking, the bore needs a good clean , any advice on cleaning /refitting ? Clean injectors in petrol ? Not sure best way to clean up for a good seal, read to use copper grease while refitting ?
