Still got a starting problem, changed the timing solenoid and all was fine but now im getting loss of power on first start up car dies and the revs drop when i try to rev it, and torque pro show that the boost vacuum drops and jumps up then drops off and stalls.

could this be a air leek?

car drives fine after about 40seconds.

got the car running this morning and went a short drive and tried to boost and the ecu management light is now on:

p1336 -- coil --cylinder 1?
p1337 -- coil --cylinder 2?
p1339 -- coil-- cylinder 4?
and B2AAA -- Unknown fault code

so iv swamped coil 1 with 3 and 2 with 4 to see if i can change the fault code to p1339.

whats the chance of 3 coils failing? i changed coil 3 at my last service as the rubber was struct on the spark plug.

but what i don't understand is why the car is fine when warmed up, if its a spark plug/coil

who did your timing?

brand new fuel pump yeh?

what fuel u normally use?

timing got done due to lumpy starts, after replacing the fuel pump. but still lumpy start so done timing solenoid that kinda helped but not for long.

its just been one thing after another, car was not looked after before i got it.

from the Stirling area, got the n14 timing tools of ebay and got some help of a friend it was not that hard.

will try to move on to normal fuel at next top up. see if it makes a difference.

mind you fuel pump was not brand new came off a mini s with 35k on it.

ah rite

the timing tools off ebay don't fit great, allows too much play in the camshafts when they supposed to be "locked".

did u change every single bolt or resuse them? and did u use the dummy tensioner? torque it to 0.6nm ?

we have done a load of timing in the last 4 years, as we have the proper Peugeot timing tools, lad near us in fife has very similar issues to you on start up and his timing is a good bit out, had replaced the hpfp, the timing control solenoid, uses 99Ron fuel, and when brought car yesterday had the timing checked and its a good bit out, and the inlet valves are clogged up.

on that actually, what mileage is on the car? it standard or mapped?

standard map. dont think i did use the dummy tensioner. reused bolts

but the cams where locked up 100% and the flywheel. my timing was off to start with so the timming need realigned. fallowed this guide.

it should be under Fuel Trim Bank 1 Long Term, when your adding a new display. Its a wee cheeky trick that can see how much fuel is being used in terms of health of the engine. But only really used on standard cars, as mapping messes that up lol

nah just a 207gti owner with loads and loads of experience, do full diagnostics for people as got diagbox and know how to use it, know several master techs who had worked on these cars, a brilliant brilliant tuner off these cars and me and mate help out local 207 owners and not so local too, had friends from Essex and Hertfordshire come up to have us work on their cars. Mate has a garage on family farm with ramp and all the tools, we bought the Peugeot timing tool (helps when you know the part codes and the revisions of it).

Did a timimg job yesterday for a lad in Edinburgh, and we were talking on how many we had done and was into the 20's for the amount timing jobs, and only 1 has had an issue and we know why lol cause it was the Peugeot timing tensioner the owner wanted to use (which is crap!), so we use the BMW version and its like 1/6th of the price Peugeot want for theirs!

If you want I can PM u my mobile so can WhatsApp rather than take up thread space on here lol
