This 207 will crank and try and fire but it seems something is out.....we have fuel pressure, compression test was good. The timing was out by one tooth, that has been fixed. Now I took the injector rail off and kept the fuel and multi-plug connected. When you turn the engine over the injectors squirt once each.No fault codes showing. Did get the U2000 code but that has no gone. Now I would i thought the injectors would of gone off all the time not just once. could this be my problem?

Thanks, John

Basics first

Beep test yes or no ?

Live data cranking speed yes/no ?
Beep test, is that with the key in the car and door open. If so yes beep beep.
Can't get live data but rev counter moves when cranking and good spark from plugs.
When cranking she trys to fire. when you carry on it will back fire. Got fuel pressure etc.
But the one thing that I dont understand is I took the injector rail off kept the fuel line connected and the mutiplug. When i crank the engine over you get one shot of fuel from injectors then nothing. I would of thought the injectors would of carried on shooting fuel out

Crank sensors are a simple item and tend to just..go.. rather than play up. The plug is a different beast. If its work loose and got some water in then you will get intermittent symptoms that are as your symptoms. Take it out, clean with a contact cleaner rather than wd type fluids and then make sure that when re-inserted the plastic seal slips right home along with the plug(bit of petroleum jelly helps). It slips in about 20mm so you know when its home as its rock-solid with zero movement. Kept me scratching my head for months until I realised it wasnt all the way in. Changed the sensor while I was at it. No probs since.
