Hi all,

New to forum today.

Partners 207 cc developed a fault where the temperature will ramp to max, fan kick in to max from cold start.

Did some searching and looks like it is common for the coolant temp sensor to go faulty.

Have ordered one and plan to give it ago tonight with brother.

Can anyone give any advice on this replacement, where to find the sensor etc. And whether anyone else has had to do this and was successful?

I have found this photo of an engine bay if anyone can pinpoint location that'll be great.

Some of these engines have been modified, had a merry dance with my 2011 207cc and dealers were not very helpful.

A modified housing was fitted to mine, no pop out temp sensor ! Instead a screw in temp sensor in top of housing replacing bleed screw and a modified wiring harness ..

google ep6c engine !

sensor part number: 1611178280

if ecu fault codes read short to positive > potential ecu water ingress inspect plugs and sockets. ECUTESTING will sort that and give a lifetime warranty! 250

if short to ground suspect sensor ... using an ohms meter measure sensor resistance .. at cold it should be around 500-600 ohms
at 100c not less than 180 ohms .. if it is change it.. its 65gpb so test it first.
a cup of boiled water is useful :)

I am an electronics engineer by trade, but after spending 2 hours with a mechanic, who scratched head for 2hours and a peugeot tech who used my Vin and some pictures to show me i had a water manifold i didn't. I was forced to reverse the circuit myself to test it and then spend hours online looking for the part itself.. this would have gone faster if the peugout tech had not insisted my temp sensor was a bypass switch (yes seriously),

the quote was 350+ vat for a new manifold and wiring harness at my dealers........ 36k miles on the clock 2011 207cc !!!:mad:
