Hi folks. I own a 2010 Peugeot 207 SW and love it, except for the air-conditioning. It's never been good at delivering cold air but now that we live in the south of France it's making the car pretty much undriveable in the daytime. The car's been serviced regularly and the air-con has been recharged(?).

I was reading another thread here about removing odours from the air-con and although I don't have that problem I noticed a mention of the Recirculated air function. I didn't even know the car had that function so I went out to the car to see if that would magically clear the issue. No such luck.

What I have discovered though is that while the air coming from the drivers side left is relatively cool the air on the passenger side is always warm. All controls are set to 'Lo' and this happens whether Recirculated is on or off.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

Sorry, something is up with the heater box flaps and it is going to take some investigation to find the cause. Peugeot dealer might be best if your not willing to take it on, I think they are a lot cheaper than their equivalents in the UK.

Yeah, it's as if something has been connected up wrong but I can't see anything obvious underneath the bonnet & I don't really have the skills to do it myself. Certainly not outside in this heat, which would be my only option. To the dealer it is then.

It's a usual to assume the outer cup the connects to the flap shafts have split and so when the actuator spins the shaft stays put, pretty easy to work out just turn the heater knobs or direction controller and feel around and you can feel / hear which motor is working to do what function, once established remove the motor and use a cable tie and super glue to fix the cup then reinstall the drive motor. Good for a quick fix, you can order new gear cups on eBay. If you are tech savvy make a collet to cover the cup and that's a premenant fix.

I did an internet search for the common 407 issue of breaking heater flap shafts to see if it was present in the 207 and came up empty.

The other thing that affects the 407 heater controls are the flap motors which can burn out.

Both of these issues will cause your symptom of hot out of one vent and cold from the other... etc..

I just came here to revive this thread. Owner of a 2008 207SW having the same issue, except its my drivers side that is staying warm and the passenger vents run cold
