Hello to all. This is my wife's car and it's developed a puzzling problem. It's a V reg 1.1 LX , only done 45,000 miles and has been an excellent car for the 2 years she's had it. Lately it's developed a fault where the autodiagnostics warning light comes on, either just for a second and the car judders briefly, or it's on for a longer period where the revs die right down or it conks out completely. ( actually, on one occasion we were out in it and the light came on but there was no noticeable difference to the engine, and it was on for about 10 miles. When we parked up and came back to the car half an hour later, no light ) Usually, on restarting the engine, it will be fine again for a while. I took it to a mechanic with a diagnostic machine, but he said that it wasn't storing any error codes, and the engine was running fine while he had it. All he could suggest was to try and get it to him next time the light came on, and without turning the engine off. We would be really grateful if this sounds familiar to anyone and you could offer some suggestions.
Fingers crossed. Thanks very much.
