Hi, whats the recommended mileage to change the cambelt on a 206 gti?

just bought a 2001 model with 64k on clock, full service history shows had a new belt at 33,000 miles !!

also had a new rear exhaust box fitted last week and the mechanic noticed the exhaust system was extremely hot even after a short run - is this normal??

cheers:)

Hi and welcome to the forum :thumb:

PSA suggest the cam belt is changed every 60,000 miles, but 45,000-50,000 is more realistic and sensible. The exhaust does seem to heat up pretty quickly on the gti just another peugeot trait.
