Hi,
i am looking to buy a 206 this week, have a few in mind in my area.

I will be taking a friend with me to overlook the car before i pay...

Can anybody point out any common faults.... or what i should be looking for especially before i pay for the new car?!

Any advice would be great,

thanks alot

A 206 is a cracking car to drive and own, but they're not without faults and a dog can bring you misery. that said, a good one will bring a big grin.

What to look for depends on the age and model you're considering, but anything from electrical gremlins, front balljoints failing, oddly pulling steering through to the rear axle snapping is a recurring theme.

If you find one you like then £100 spent on an AA/RAC check will be priceless. These cars will be a bit of a minefield for the typical knowledgeable 'friend', even a technician will not spot a lot of stuff (unless they can get it up in the air and inspect the front bottom arms, rear beam, etc) so don't stint.

Hope it goes well :thumb:
