Hi everyone.
I'm new on here and would really appreciate some help.
Could someone let me know what the acceptable oil pressure minimum to maximum ranges are on my 206 1398cc diesel at 1000, 2000 and 3000 rpm.
I've just replaced the oil pump and am now rather confused with the readings I have taken.
Many thanks.:D

Hello.

Thanks for replying to my question.

My readings on the old pump were the following, cold:-
1K Revs - 6ppsi. 2K Revs - 8ppsi. 3K - 10ppsi. (So obviously very poor)

My replacement pump readings, again cold were:-
1K Revs - 60ppsi. 2K Revs - 80ppsi. 3K - Worried, so never reached 3K !

Any help gratefully received. Thanks:D

To be honest first thing i would say there is very strange it went from 6 to 60 and 8 to 80 was it same reading dial and are you sure you`ve read right?
is there oil getting to the engine ? have you fitted a peugeot oil filter and rubber seal ? are you using the right oil ? and what way is the car running ?

gonna look to see if i can find my readings , same engine.

Hello again.
As I said, I replaced the pump so readings are from the old pump and the replacement pump.
Gauge I used is brand new and tested.
Oil is getting around the engine.
New filter and ring fitted. Correctly fitted into location hole.
Oil used is 5/30W Semi-synthetic.
Car is used as normal transport - No track days or anything like that.
Thanks again.

Sounds like its doing its job then, the only other thing that can cause high pressure is the relief valve in the oil pump , i think if you phoned pug dealers i know they can tell you whats the min oil pressure but thats it they don`t have values for high, it doesn`t worry them for some reason.

Thanks for your help.
As you say, it's the upper limit pressures that seem impossible to get hold of, but I will try my local Peugeot dealer to see whether they can advise.
Cheers for now:thumb:
