HI I have got a 205 CJ with m16i engine want to convert to power steering.can anyone tell me what rack to fit I have been told a 306 rack will fit and also is there still room on the engine for the 306 pump the brackets are still there but it looks a little tight.any advise will be helpful . 205s came with power steering in later cars just get a rack and pump/pipes from one

You could also fit electric power steering

Is it the 1.9 or 2.0 Mi16 you got there?

I did fit a 205 TD rack and servopump to the gearbox on my 205 Mi16, which has a 1.9 Mi16 head.

So more or less exact same configuration as on the 405 Mi16 as standard.

The hoses etc. from the 205 TD did fit so didn't have to do much about it.

This is the pump and bracket. I had to oval out the holes to get it aligned correctly, but apart from that it was no biggie.

If you got the 2.0 Mi16/S16 head I don't think that is prepared to take the gearbox mounted pump though. But using a setup from a 1.9 GTi with powersteering should still be possible.
