Just thought I wold help put you all out of your misery....

This fault has a TSB and is very common on certain batches of engines.

The leak originates between the cylinder head and the cam carrier. Something about not enough sealant there from factory. Or badly applied. Have had 2 in the garage recently for this.

Not to be mistaken for the seam between the two halves of the cam carrier, this is the seam between the carrier and the head.

Obviously you have to remove the carrier and cam to clean and reseal so might as well treat it to a timing belt and pump at the same time.

Where I've drawn the red line is where it leaks. You can often see it bubbling with a good torch while the engine is running.
