2013 5008 Headlights Stop Working - FIXED

2.3K views 20 replies 5 participants last post by  arnowick1989
Hi all,

As the title says both headlights have stopped working onn my 5008.

I've checked bulbs and fuses and these are fine.

Is there a headlight relay in the car and if so where is it?

Any other suggestions?

Suspect I'll have to get the code reader out or it's a trip to an auto electrician.

Cheers

Tyke
yes and no. Electrics is the problem of these cars, in a sense, your headlights are operated by BSI, hence troubles where it is to learn could be in plethora in origin. Without panicking for anyone with functional or semi-functional DiagBox- they'll need at least you EDC or VIN in full in order to look up diagrams specific to your car. On the other hand, for the headlights to fail- computer must have thrown major failure warning, strange not the case.
After all, check, clean all contacts on BSM, ECU and... if lucky to get as far as you can BSI.
Indeed, the simplest and most sensible route is to get to electrician, who has Lexia3 or better diagnostics equipment, as believe it or not- half of garages are clueless what they do, that is very specific knowledge on PSA (Stelantis) cars.
keep us posted! ;)

Thanks Ian,

Looks like there is something odd going on with electrics - typically Peugeot.
An airbag/pre tensioner error appeared on the dash yesterday.
Probably unrelated, I'll check out the wiring as mentioned on previous threads.
Depending how it goes further on, but for the sake ÂŁ40-50 I'd take really good photo of BSM (fuse box), get one of a fleabay, replace it (literally 5 minute job) and see, if anything would improve.

Cheers Alvy, sorry to hear it cost you so much.
found one from same yr for ÂŁ30 on fleabay, arriving today.

Blower/heater fan stopped working today also which is fed from engine bay fuse box, so sound like it's breaking down.
Oddly rear fans still working so must be fed from different fuse.

I'll report back when I've fitted the replacement.
How it all went? fixed up?
