hi guys am new to this forum thing have got a lot of great info from this forum in the past so thought id join up i work for a car dealer and work on all sorts of cars including peugeot and citreon I have a 308 1.6 turbo with auto trans it seems to be blowing atf out of the breather when it is on the freeway/motorway i suspect that it is overfull but am having trouble finding out how to check the level one of the posts has pics of a 19mm 6 sided bolt that you take out to see if its dripping have done cars with this system before but this one only seems to have a 8mm square plug on the top to fill up and another to drain underneath does anyone know how to check the levels on these cars will pull out the drain plug to see what happens maybe there is another plug in side cheers:)

I guess its similar to the DPO transmission fitted to Renaults, is there a small hex inside the large drain hex? This is the level plug, the large hex is a tube that gives the level.
Don't undo the small hex without the engine running otherwise a litre or so of fluid will come out. Level is correct when you get a few drips out with engine running.

thanks wynb all sorted now it had over 3 litres too much oil in it!!! must have been pumping it out the breather at higher speeds then it would go onto the driveshaft and go everywhere the old boy who bought the car was freakin out everytime he pulled up somewhere there would be heaps of oil dripping out from all over the place thanks again

That is a result, hard to fathom why someone with the knowledge to top it up then tips in so much in ignorance!

Get ready to cry when Aus lose to Wales on Saturday!

yes i was amazed at how much oil came out to get it back to level doing another 308 now with oil leaks they seem to always have rocker cover leaks and the breather hose is split which is most of the leak i think i've heard that the turbos can leak oil too


well Wales didnt do so well!! but I'm a kiwi anyway so the wally bees WILL LOSE soon hahahahha

Sam Warburton told my brother Wales would beat the All Blacks during his captaincy, wish I could share his optimism, the last time was 1954 I think. If it was tiddlywinks we might stand a chance:)
