Hi all,

I posted this on the Fiat forum, but no replies as yet - appears to happen a lot lately. :(

I have posted it here as it is the same as a Peugeot 806 :) - and would appreciate any and all replies, help (on what to look for and where, etc) and pointers to a DIYer. :)

I used my FR704 Diagnostics on my new aquired Fiat Ulysse 2001 2.0 JTD 16V (HDI?) And it showed the following Errors & Error Codes. Your help with them would be appreceiated:

FAULT CODES:

PO380 - Glow plug / Heater Circuit A

PO230 - Fuel pump primary Circuit

PO235 - Turbocharger / Supercharger Boost sensor A Circuit


FAULTS:

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Additional Heating Circuit. Short Circuit to Positive.

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Additional Heating Circuit 2 And Pre-Heating. Faulty Circuit.

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Turbo Pressure SignalM. Short-Circuit To Positive, Open Circuit, or Valve too

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Turbo Pressure Signal. Consistency with Atmospheric.

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Turbo Pressure. Turbo Pressure Measured Too Low.

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Fuel Pressure Regulation Fault. Stop Requested But Regulator Stll

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Diesel High Pressure Monitoring Function. Diesel High Pressure Regulator Jammed.

INTERMITTENT FAULT.
Diesel High Pressure Monitoring Function. Lack of Pressure (Leak).



COMPLETE DATA SET

EDIT: I have noticed that the engine continues to run on a little after the ignition has been turned off. I changed all door locks and ignition, BUT, left the old three plugs and wiring in, and connected it up to my new igition arrel. The reason for that is that someone has spliced in three different cables.

Did the faults clear

What symptoms problems do you actually have

It could be wiring loom related for most of those faults and some just get logged if other faults happen

Thanks for your reply, Reliable406. I didn't try to clear them tbh, I am a DIYer and didn't want to mess the car up. Would it be alright to delet / clear those faults then?

Thanks mate, I will have a try at clearing them later.

While I am here, have you, or anyone else ever changed or know what is involved in changing the Steering Rack End / Inner Tie Rod end on the same 2001 Fiat Ulysse 2.0 JTD HDI (the same as a Peugeot 806)? Do they screw in or something? (Steering rack end)

UPDATE:

I cleared and retested. The following two (2) INTERMITTENT FAULTS remain:


1. Additional Heating Circuit. Short-Circuit to Positive.

2. Fuel Pressure Regulation Fault. Stop requested but Regulator still active.


Your input, help and advice is appreciated. :)

Possible sticky/faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator. Been looking at the prices of these online. Phew!

I believe the "Bosch 0281002872" is the beast that I need? Is that right?

Anyone know of anywhere that sells these (new) at sensible prices in the UK please?

Can these be re-furbished?

One more question, if I may, please?:

Does anyone know where Fuel Pressure Regulator is on a 2001 Fiat Ulysse 2.0 JTD HDI 16 Valve please? I can't seem to find it.
I think I know where the Fuel Pressure Regulator is? I have been looking around the engine again albeit with a torch in the dark, and with so much crammed into the engine bay, I believe it goes into the end of the "FUEL INJECTION PUMP"?

I will have a look again in the light Tomorrow, and will try to take good photos of it, space permitting, for the benefit of other forum members.

heater circuit

Hi
I have just sorted the heater circuit problem on mine, it turned out to be a bad glow plug that was shorting out on the block.
Get some one to turn the ignition on for you while you look at the end of the fuel rail for smoke as the glow plugs activate and cause a short
They can be tested by takeing them out and connecting to a 12v battery, positive to the threaded end of the plug where you took the nut off when removing the wiring loom to them, negative to the glow plug body, don't touch the ends because they will glow red hot very quickly if they are working properly, if you find one that shorts and starts to smoke when tested that will probally be your problem with the heater circuit fault.
Mine where very tight in the head I had to work them back and forward very carefully,spraying them in wd40 and waiting a few minutes before trying to turn them out a bit more.
If they are extremely tight and you don't feel confident trying to get them out take it to a mechanic as they can snap off in the head if they are forced to much

I have only just noticed yours is a 16v engine a much more awkward job to get to the glow plugs, probally still the same problem causing the fault code but it would probably be easier to get some one to test them in sittu for you

Further fault codes that I would appreciate help on (explanation and solutions on) if someone could, please, are:

P0120 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor / Switch A Circuit.

P0220 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor / Switch B Circuit.
