Hi guys, im aware that is recommended that It's ready for changing but I'm thinking of leaving it and maybe run until it drops.
Ive had the van for 6 years and the bloke before 9 years.
Its not a working van and is never driven in anger.
Has anyone got a van and not bothered changing the belt?
I know some can last and some go and a lot is down to luck.
The van.is.only worth the price of the.belt.change some im weighing up my odds.

Yea a 15 year old. If that's 40000 miles then I would leave it.
I think with normal use it would be good for 80000 miles or 5 years.
You have the original factory belt, never fiddled with, and it could probably go on for 20 years if the vehicle is not used in harsh conditions.
What I would do is get a good friendly mechanic to give the belt a full visual inspection and to run his hand over the whole belt looking for any signs of degradation. Do that every 12 months.

If your not too bothered about it then leave it as on these engines IF the belt breaks it tends to smash the camshaft into 3 bits this can be replaced without head removal so its not a terribly big deal we used to run 306s and 405s we always took a belt and a camshaft on long journeys just incase never needed them but it would have saved us being stranded.

The belt was changed at 70000 in 2011 and is now at 110000.
As i said the van is babied and looked after.
Think I'll chance it as mostly local visits.
