My friend has an 807 2.2, the turbo is making noises and she has lost power. I am assuming the turbo has gone? Is there an easy way of confirming this? Could it possibly be anything cheaper, like a loose or leaking hose?

Could loss of power be a 'limp home' protection for the engine?

If it is the turbo, does the engine need to come out to replace it? How easy is it to get at, I cant even see it from the engine bay.

I am a competant mechanic, but without workshop facilities. I have read its a nightmare to replace on the 2.2 model.

Ok - Update to above...

Scanned with an OBDII reader and got the fault code P0020 "A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit Bank 2.

Does the above help at all. I have done a quick google and not come up with anything that is that helpful?

Can anyone help??

Don't assume anything with this engine. It is pretty troublesome.
I'd be checking the valve timing on this one.

THe turbo is under the back of the engine and you have to remove the rhs drive shaft ,so without a pitt or ramp no way
