Hiya,

New to all forums so any help/advice would be appreciated.

My problem is that my 807's Cam belt snapped travelling around 5-10mph, what damage could have been caused and what are my options for repair?

Many Thanks
Gareth

Speed is irrelevant it could have broken all 16 rockers it could have broken none :)

Most seem to break 4-6 rockers

First thing to do is fit a new belt and try it you can be lucky sometimes we run 10 cars with this engine and every one has lost a belt at some point for all sorts of reasons twice we have been lucky with no damage

Only once has it broken all 16 rockers

What is the process for replacing rockers?

Does the engine have to come out?
Does the injectors have to be removed?

You do not want them to be broken :)

First of all anyone who says you need to remove the head is talking rubbish you do however have to remove the injectors to get at the broken rockers this can be a mission

Was the car well serviced as peugeot might help but will not if service history not perfect

Purchased it a year ago, 91,000 miles, good service history until 2010, not sure what happened in between!

Miles to high then your on your own lol

VALVES WILL BE FINE as i say head does NOT need to come off

As i say fit a belt first it might run on 3 cylinders but thats good as you can use the heat and compression to help release the injectors

If you get injectors out the rest is easy enough

You can take the engine out to do it but i would still try getting injectors loose first i take them out to do it but i have had plenty practice and can generally do the whole job in a day :)
