Good morning everybody,
while driving back home in a stormy day, and after a deep diving in some lakes I arrived safely, but the next day the car is not starting, it's been more than 2 months already, I checked all electrical connection in engine bay from an to the ecu connector and fuel double relay connector, all are OK, replaced most of the sensors as well as the ignition coil and spark plugs, even the ECU is replaced with brand new one but no joy.
any suggestions please. your help is very much appreciated.

I had a non starting 2.0 16v and it was the multi function relay. You will find it inside the box with the ECU. Make sure you get a genuine Peugeot one.

You say you replaced the ecu is it properly rematched to the car as if not you will never get it to start

I personally would put the original back it is very unlikely to be faulty

thanks a lot for reply.
in fact, when I removed this relay I found it defective as one pin is cut due to overheat or rust (pin No. 11), I have 4 used relays in working condition, tried them one by one, but no use, I have checked the terminals voltages and functions of the the coils and contacts, all relays are working fine but the engine is not starting.

Hi, how are you my dear.
actually, when I removed the ECU I found water between the pins and some of them have turned into green color, there was a clear indications to a short circuits as all the lights illuminated in the cluster panel when I turned the ignition on, and the lights remained even after I switched the ignition off and removed the key, and that is why I strongly doubted the ecu failure.
I got a genuine brand new replacement with the same model number Bosch MP 5.1.1 and I presumed that it should work as it is a virgin unit.
what do you think, I appreciate your help and trust your experience.
thanks & regards

Do you have..

1. spark
2. fuel
3. compression

????
thanks a lot for reply, well I am sure about compression as the engine is in good condition (overhauled completely a year ago), regarding fuel it is not reaching although I have tested the pump with direct connection and found OK, for spark I don't know how to test it as the engine has a rack type electronic ignition coil.
your opinion is very much appreciated.
with regards

You disconnect the module from the spark plugs, lie it on top of the motor with loom connected to it, connect 4 spark plugs into the connectors, make sure they are all grounded [use wire wrapped around each one and connected to ground] then crank motor and check for spark.

Is the fuel pump not running when you crank? Connect a pressure gauge ["T" it off the fuel supply line] and see if there is adequate pressure.

As reliable406 says, if your new ECU is not fully matched to the car, it will not function. Do you get beeping if you leave the key in the ignition after cranking the motor and open the driver's door?

thanks a lot for interaction,
1- sorry I did not get your point for spark test, do you have a video or paragraph?
2- I have tested the pressure by direct power connection and closed the supply hose by finger, I felt a very high pressure accumulating.
from a previous experience, I know that the pump won't be energized if no spark available (logic relation via ecu), I don't know if this is applicable vise versa (no spark will happen if no fuel supply)?
3- I have strong reasons to believe that the replacement is pretty good:
- the same part number (1929.3T ) which is a standard unit (uncodded)
- the beeping you asked about is available.
- the check engine light in cluster is coming ON with the new ECU fitted.

well, i have checked the spark as per your instructions, found no sparks by plugs.
