I had a non starting 2.0 16v and it was the multi function relay. You will find it inside the box with the ECU. Make sure you get a genuine Peugeot one.

Hi, how are you my dear. You say you replaced the ecu is it properly rematched to the car as if not you will never get it to start
I personally would put the original back it is very unlikely to be faulty
thanks a lot for reply, well I am sure about compression as the engine is in good condition (overhauled completely a year ago), regarding fuel it is not reaching although I have tested the pump with direct connection and found OK, for spark I don't know how to test it as the engine has a rack type electronic ignition coil.Do you have..
1. spark
2. fuel
3. compression
????
thanks a lot for interaction,You disconnect the module from the spark plugs, lie it on top of the motor with loom connected to it, connect 4 spark plugs into the connectors, make sure they are all grounded [use wire wrapped around each one and connected to ground] then crank motor and check for spark.
Is the fuel pump not running when you crank? Connect a pressure gauge ["T" it off the fuel supply line] and see if there is adequate pressure.
As reliable406 says, if your new ECU is not fully matched to the car, it will not function. Do you get beeping if you leave the key in the ignition after cranking the motor and open the driver's door?
well, i have checked the spark as per your instructions, found no sparks by plugs.you disconnect the module from the spark plugs, lie it on top of the motor with loom connected to it, connect 4 spark plugs into the connectors, make sure they are all grounded [use wire wrapped around each one and connected to ground] then crank motor and check for spark.
