Hi.
Recently bought a 106XN 1.1. In right hand turn it quite often just dies. After 5-6 seconds it recovers and works like normal again. I'm guessing fuel starvation. Is this a common problem? How can I fix it?
Appreciate any help!

How old is the motor?

Sometimes on older vehicles this will happen for two reasons:-

Fuel tank run too low so the fuel slops from side to side causing air pockets to the pick up gauze on the pump thus runs dry so no pressure to the injection rail. This also causes vapour lock which can lead to poor restarting when warm.

The pump maybe getting tired or impeller is becoming inefficient. If it has been replaced at all in the cars life with a non genuine unit generally they are noisy and tend to be less reliable due to the swirl in the tank that occurs and the pump cannot keep up with the driving demands.

Try and brim the tank and see if it happens when it's full.

Hope this explains what might be happening. Kind regards Adam. :thumb:

The car is a 1992 model. Maybe I'll just check how much a new pump is, and try that. It seems to occur allready from around 1/2 tank. Very annoying!
Thanks!
