Morning All,

A friend of mine has a 1.1 zest that has blew a spark plug clean out of the engine.....

What could have caused this? and how can it be fixed?

Reading bits online, could it be that its overtightened and the ali has weakened or maybe water is the coil pack?

Thanks In Advance
Ross

sounds like the threads have been stripped due to either being over tightened or cross threaded.

It could even of had wrong plugs in

It looks highly likely that thread in the cylinder head has been damaged. All you can do is try a new plug,it will either screw in and torque up,or it wont.
If its stripped have a word with these guys Welcome to the Thread Doctor Website - Mobile Thread Repair, Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, UK
or someone similar if your out of their area.
They will fit a helicoil (New thread) into the head and make it as good as new.I`ve just used them today to fix a stripped sump drain plug.

The helicoil thread repair kits are good kits. I've used them - though not for spark plugs. Once fitted it works just like a tapped thread - including being stripped if over tightened as I have also found out.
