Hello

I'm looking to buy a second hand 5008 and it's not clear for me if the newer 1.6 engine with 180hp is worth the extra pay (~5k euro) over the older 1.6 engine with 165hp.
Are there some extra functions that are enabled only on the newer model (It's not clear for me if the older model supports adaptive cruise control)? From what I can tell the main difference is the gearbox: 165hp has EAT6 while the 180hp has EAT8.

P.S. I'm not interested in the 1.2 130hp EAT8 because I will drive about 50% of the time fully loaded and with a roof box on top. Also I'm not interested in diesel.

Hi. I would go for a newer version if there is choice. As for the engine, I had a 2012 508 with this engine of the time. Had problems with the timing chain. I wouldn’t go near this engine even if they say it’s improved immensely.
You’d be better off with a diesel and EAT8. Enough power and less consumption.
