In the last week or so I have felt that the car doesn't accelerate like it used to - it still pulls away and will eventually get up to 70, but for example it won't get to 70 up a slight gradient on the dual carriageway anymore only when it reaches the crest.
I have only had the car since Jan (I've nursed a diesel vectra to 260k over the last 8 years - still going strong but needs some bodywork following a minor shunt) so I'm not that familiar with how it should accelerate, but it felt wrong so I read the codes using planet and found a lot of P1645 which seems to related to the accelerator hard spot. In retrospect, there is no hard spot any more, the pedal goes smoothly to the floor without the pick up you normally get when passing the hard spot.
Any ideas for this?
It seems like the throttle position sensor will involved, but is the hard spot part of it or a separate switch, or is it something mechanical?
Is there a switch on the pedal assembly that can be checked/replaced or do I need to replace the whole pedal?
