If i change the ecu, bsi and chip in the key from one 307 hdi to the other do i need to get one from a car with the same bosch part number?
For example if my ecu is 0281012525 does the next ecu need to be that same number?

No the spec of the car is more important and the power output of engines must be the same as the boost control systems vary with engine specs.

Some claim numbers must match but in my experience it makes no difference i use 1 car for testing ecu sets and rarely do the numbers even come close but they still work i have even tested a 206 hdi ecu in a 406 and it worked :)

We have a 1.6 hdi 206 here with a berlingo ecu set in it !
