Hi all

I need a bit of advice.
We bought a second hand 307 in 2011 and it only had 17000 miles on the clock.
It now has 24500 miles and it has started showing a "Gearbox faulty" message on the dash.

The gearbox is a semi-automatic tiptronic (spelling?).

A mechanic friend of our has looked into it and found that one of the Solenoids has been discontinued by Peugeot.

Where do we go from here? Surely a car that has only done 24500 miles shouldn't have a faulty gearbox ? Is it Peugeot's responsibility if one of the parts could be faulty when manufactured ?

Any help will be most welcome.

David.

In a lot of your posts you recommend getting the gearbox and engine software updated. Is this expensive and would it have to be done by a Peugeot dealership ?
