I own a 407 2.0td 6 speed manual.
Bought it second hand with only 66,000km on the clock 4 years ago and now it's got 168,000km.
It has been faultless until last week.
The common issue with the LH wiper motor.
I soldered in the new LAN chip and no luck with now the message of " communication fault with ECU".
I'm now up for 2 new motors at $350 each plus calibration.
The brake master cylinder needs replacing as do the 4 rotors.
Apart from that it's perfect.
Do I keep it and face further issues or fix and update the wear and tear items.

Wiper motor and master cylinder are unusual things to fail -- we really don't hear about them very often at all.

The normal problem with the wiper motors is when someone has installed aftermarket HID headlights.

If it's otherwise well maintained then you're probably better off sticking with it: with second hand motors you're generally jsut swapping a load of problems you do know about for a load of problems you don't know about.
