DTC code is not effected, by with or without start stop, but it might for testing - so let me know which you have.

If you can use a multimeter, then can provide testing or could try cleaning/replacing the accelerator pedal.

Do you have any issues along with the DTC ?

Like suddenly, possibly randomly, the engine stops / dies, thinking here about, the air doser while not said to be the issue by DTC or investigation process in Haynes, this is what this controls and ~imo, more prone to issue from engine oil / wear. Should have DTC codes for air doser, as tested for control by the *ECU, at engine close down however, warning signs might be air doser, getting very loud when compared to its normal noises on shutdown - prior to an issue.

*This knowledge is from my 4007 2.2 HDi engine / issues however it uses different ECU (Bosch) controller, possibly different process of control, and not checked into what is possible or not for yours at this stage, just trying to establish the issue, you have and what we should consider for testing should just be Haynes, the pedal or should possibly look at the air doser, as well, even without DTC. Might be a case of applying wrong information to this engine, at this stage, and easily ruled out.
