Default Peugeot Expert mk3 fuel intercooler

Its located underneath the van under the front passenger seat. Looks like a small radiator. The air scoop is big, it hangs low and its bolted on with 2 bolts and has little strength.

Im forever having my fuel intercooler come off and the fuel pipes which go onto it come off. This happens on grass verges, speed humps or like today driving through a puddle. Its cost me 100's over the last 7 years i want to make a modification to end this stupid design.

I know it cools the fuel but is it really necessary?

Could i do away with it and join the fuel lines?

Is it possible to move it somewhere else?

We had the same problem on the taxis we just removed the scoop and mounted the cooler higher up when looking at fuel temps they do run slightly higher but not enough to make us want to refit the scoops

I was thinking of mounting the the fuel rad somewhere infront of the turbo intercooler in the front bumper area.
